INTRODUCTION
Food allergy is recognized as a common worldwide problem, and, like other atopic disorders, its incidence seems to increase. In the past years, investigations of allergic food proteins and related immunological responses have moved to the molecular level, and the newly-found knowledge might provide novel experimental strategies for the laboratory diagnosis and the immuno-modulatory control of food-induced allergic reactions (1, 2).

How to Organize Your Home for Springtime
Who wants a clean house? Do you want to spend more time enjoying your house and less time cleaning it? Do you ever just look around and wonder how you get a grip on the cleaning so that you do not have to spend so much time cleaning up after the mess?
Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a self-cleaning house, yet, but some simple organization can help you get a handle on the clutter and the cleaning. It takes a bit of commitment to get your house to the semi-automatic cleaning stage, but the work you put in up front pays off in extra time to spend with your family, your friends, and your favorite hobbies. Here are some tips to help you get organized so that you can enjoy a clean house from now on.
Combating Plant Enemies In Your Garden
When it comes to fighting plant enemies, there are two different types of implementations:
(1) Any implementation that gives a mechanical protection from invaders to your plant
(2) Any type of implementation that will apply a chemical to your plants such as an insecticide or a repellent of some sorts, also fungicides.
In this article we will cover the mechanical solutions for protecting your garden and plants from common enemies.
Organizing Lessons From My Garden
One of the reasons that I like being organized is that I hate to waste time, money or energy. Also, I can’t bear that nasty sensation in the pit of my stomach when I realize that because I wasn’t prepared for it, an opportunity just passed me by.
Loving Long Island-Day Trips
If you were to say to someone in Maine that you were taking the ferry to Long Island to visit public gardens, they would look at you and think, “What public gardens?” They would conjure up images of an outpost in Casco Bay populated by people who fish for a living and have little time to garden, and by summer residents who might have a small vegetable garden, flower bed or hedgerow of rugosa rose. But public gardens? There are none to be found. It’s a simple place where the word “ostentatious” isn’t used very often. I like Long Island, Maine — my kind of people and my kind of gardens.
Last year, I was asked to go to the “other” Long Island, the big island adjacent to New York City, for a Day Trip. Never having been there — and based on some of the things I had read about the Hamptons, the area I would be visiting — I really wasn’t looking forward to it. Who wants to drive all day, take a ferry, then drive some more to see “McMansions” or rub elbows in an overpriced restaurant with high rollers from New York City? I did make the trip, however, and although it was quite different from Long Island, Maine, it wasn’t what I had envisioned.
Why Use Organic Or Natural Paints In The Home?
Thinking of painting your house or doing a spot of DIY? Well I was and I was searching the net looking for a good deal and I came across organic and eco paints. My first thought was how can paint be organic? Isnt that for vegetables?
I did some more research and found that the term organic can be a highly misleading term when applied to paint so many companies dont use it and tend to use the term eco or natural instead. Unlike the food and textile industry, there is currently no legally defined standard or recognised certification scheme in place for organic paints just like soap pods (what are soap pods I hear you ask?).
A Little Bit About Organic Skincare
Organic cosmetics – like natural – skincare products, are sourced naturally and should not contain any chemical additives or have chemicals used in their creation. Organic means the plants are grown without the help of pesticides and other chemicals, whereas natural can simply mean taken from nature; pesticides and the such may be involved. Organic skincare is much less likely to cause reactions as most people’s allergies are triggered by chemicals. Of course most cosmetics have a long list of chemical and synthetic ingredients however there are generally natural alternatives to these which you can look out for if you wish to avoid all synthetics altogether and go totally organic.
Emollients are common and mostly necessary ingredients which bind together oil and water, allowing for better moisturisation. There are a great deal of synthetic emollients out on the market, PEG- 45 Almond glyceride, synthetic alcohols (products that end with butyl, cetearyl, cetyl, glyceryl, isopropyl, myristyl), petroleum, paraffin, dimethicone, and cyclomethicone. Organic emollients are available that work just as well; oils from plants such as jojoba, avocado, and rosehip, and butters jojoba, shea, and cocoa.
